Our History Print E-mail

Five years ago a small group of dedicated individuals traveled to South Africa to assist in developing an Aids’ hospice center.  We viewed firsthand the effect that HIV and AIDS has had in South Africa.  On the return flight, we all agreed we could not forget what we experienced.  With little money but a lot of heart, we created Aid Africa’s Children, a not-for-profit 501c3 organization dedicated to improving the lives of the children in countries throughout Africa.  Our goal is to bring healing and hope to children who live in communities devastated by poverty and AIDS.   We do this by providing for basic human needs first, and then develop local resources that support long term change - building one community, one child at a time.  In the last two years, we have developed a base of hundreds of volunteers and supporters, ranging from government officials to local TV news personalities. In fact, President Barack Obama has been our honorary benefit chairman for both our 2007 and 2008 annual events.

Our objective is to provide basic assistance to sustain vulnerable children and their caregivers in a loving and caring environment. Our goal is to break the current cycle of disease and poverty by creating necessary resources for a healthy and thriving generation of African children.
